Focus!....?

Do actual work or read about the second semi-finale of Eurovision Song Contest? Well… I wish I could say I was super focused and in to the text I’m translating now for work, but maaaaan, it is hard to stay focused on a text that only uses financial and legal terms when you are tired!

I’m actually pretty excited about this project because it’s my very first official translation job that I’m getting paid to do and it’s a pretty serious deal. I’m translating parts of the annual report for the company I work for and it’s actually going to be sent in to the Swedish tax agency, company registration office, read by all the directors and board members of the company and be used as guide lines for next year’s translation. This is the first time they’ve ever used a “live translator” and not just send it through a computer translator or our accounting firm, they are a little too big and important now to do that. And they decided to use me! Haha not sure what they were thinking but oh well. I told them they have to check all the information before they send it in so that nothing is wrong. The hard part is that I’m translating it in to English which is not my native language and I don’t know all the terms and words in English! So it’s taking forever but hopefully it will turn out ok. I turned in 4 pages already and they said it was good so hopefully they will be satisfied with the end result.

Well, I better get back to actually doing the translation rather than just writing about it.

Don’t forget to vote for Loreen and Sweden tonight at the ESC!! She is well worth your votes and I really want us to win!! I can’t even begin to explain how excited I am for the finale on Saturday!

Some of my favorites this year:

Sweden
Estonia
Romania
Cyprus

  1. Första officiella översättningsjobbet! Lycka till. Du är duktig. En årsredovisning låter kul :)
